Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then located many other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police say initial examinations indicate the liquid was likely human blood.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.
A senior political figure commented the vandalism made him speechless and required to be solved quickly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in 2020.
